Hiya! My name is Cate and I am so very happy you have come for a wee visit!
A little about me? Well, let’s see…I was born and reared in California. (Although I prefer how my Irish husband would say it: ‘born, bred and buttered.’) Charming, eh? Sunsets, the scent of star jasmine and good food are some of my heart joys. And I absolutely love, love, love visiting and exploring new places. It may have been from living in different countries and both hemispheres over the years…I’ve spent some time in Germany, Canada, Northern Ireland, a wee stint in New Zealand, and then back to the States, but this time the mountains of North Carolina. My most recent move was to England where I live with my hubs and precious children. I have only seen the tiniest percent, but I think quite possibly, Britain is one of the most ethereally beautiful countries I have ever seen.
All this leading to what this blog is all about (partly anyway): taking you to hidden corners and introducing you to undiscovered places (in my neck of the woods, anyway). And if you’ve heard of it before, hopefully I can share something new about it.
What else will you find here? I am passionate about holistic living and eating well (without sacrificing the yumminess). I have been so blessed and encouraged by health blogs and discovering how other folk have ventured forward on this journey of reclaiming their health! Kindred spirits are not so scarce as I used to think. :) *** In this health section, I really have a heart to make things simple. Years ago my health rapidly declined at an alarming rate and I jumped into every healthy way of life possible, and to be honest, it was overwhelming! And so, I want to share all I have learned and am continuing to learn, and introduce you to simple ways that will gradually bring healthier eating to your food plan. I must add here that I am not a dietitian or nutritionist or any kind of -ian or -ist. But what I am is passionate about researching the best health alternative, believing that food can be medicine to our bodies. Definitely not perfect on this health journey, but I am so very grateful for what food, nutrition and herbs, etc. have done to improve my health as well as the miraculous changes I have witnessed for my family.
Can’t forget about the home. Having lived in 8 different homes (and a whole lotta temporary ones) in the last 14 years, I have had to learn to establish the homey life in all kinds of places…from a tiny trailer (half a trailer at that!) to an incredibly large Irish homestead. I so look forward to sharing the setting up of home in these latest digs.
And lastly, my greatest passion? Jesus. He is the bestest ever.
And I know, bestest isn’t a proper word. But I can’t help it; it’s the Ramona Quimby in me.
Come and join me on the adventure of living…
